Rod McLean was recently knocked out of commission for a few months after a surprise knee surgery. Thankfully he’s back to normal, but for anyone in a creative field it’s tough to accept limitations – you want to be making work all the time. The recouperation period made for the perfect time to shoot some imagery Rod had been wanting to make. Luckily, professional ballet dancer Sabrina Finegold was available and more that willing to dance in this awesome(old, filthy, falling down, holes in the floor) warehouse Rod had scouted. Rod laid his crutches down and Sabrina was able to work around him. Shooting most of the work digitally, Rod also went “old school & used one of his last packs of 665 polaroid film, some color neg, and the Graflex super D. There is still an organic beauty that happens with film, here are a few of Rod’s favorites, both analog & digital.
