What did your 18 year old self see you becoming?

A doctor. But I couldn’t put down the camera. And the rectals were a buzz kill.

What reality show would you invent?

I wouldn’t.

What was one of the most interesting projects you worked on?

It was for an adult diaper company. Even though there was no way to tell, it was mandated that the model wear the product during the shoot. The client didn’t trust that he had them on and made him prove it – now that was interesting!

What is the most important thing that you have ever lost?

Time.

If you weren’t a photographer, what would you do?

Probably drink less.

What celebrity (actor, writer, musician) would you most want to have dinner with?

James Craig Annan – nobody knows him, but they should.

What are the top 2 things on your bucket list?

Bhutan and a photogravure exhibit.

How do you get your news?

Vice, BBC and lectures from my father – who believes, if given the chance, he can solve all the world’s problems. I’d vote for him.

What is your dream assignment?

It involves exotic travel, a humanistic cause, and collaboration with like-minded people.

What do you know now, you wish you’d known when you first started out?

It will all work out just fine.

What might surprise people about you?

That I buy socks in bulk and wear the same thing every day.

What were you like as a 10 year old?

Well, I think they call it ‘oppositional’.
